Inverted pleats

Inverted pleats consist of folds on evenly spaced, marked lines that are secured at the top edge. The distance between the marked lines is called the pleat depth. For an inverted pleat, with right sides together, match the outer marked lines of the pleat and pin. Stitch along the marked line up to and slightly beyond the seamline. Press the pleat flat, centring the seamline evenly between the side folds of the pleat. To temporarily secure a pleat, baste across the top of the pleats (above the seamline) beginning and ending at the sides of the pleat.
