Bound sleeve opening
For a bound sleeve opening, cut a bias strip of fabric twice as long as the opening and four times as wide as the seam allowance. Transfer pattern markings. Stay-stitch the opening edges along the seamline. Cut along marked opening line. Place one long edge of bias strip, right sides together along opening edge. Sew along seamline, shortening stitch length at top of opening to prevent the seam from pulling. Press the seam allowance towards the bias strip. Fold the second long side of the strip1/4" (1 cm) towards the inside and press, aligning raw edge with seamline. Fold in half lengthwise again, overlapping the seamline approx. 1/16" (1-2 mm). Blindstitch or topstitch in place. Fold extension in half as shown. Topstitch diagonally across the upper end of opening.
