Patch pocket
A self-faced rectangular pocket is the simplest form of pocket to sew. Clean-finish all four pocket edges. Fold extension toward pocket, right sides together. Sew along seam allowance on sides and bottom edge of pocket. This will secure the facing in place and create a perfect fold line for the remaining raw edges. Clip the corners, turn the facing right side out and press. Fold under and press the remaining seam allowances. Pin and sew the pocket in place, aligning matching marks on pocket and project. Secure the top edge of the pocket with small lengthwise bartacks.
