Faced button placket

With right sides together, matching raw edges, pin facing to garment front. Sew a standard seam. Press the seam allowances open to set stitching. Fold facing to inside along seam line. Topstitch the front edge if desired. If the garment has a collar that doesn't extend to the front edge, you will have to stitch and turn the upper corner.
