Basting

The basting stitch may be used for test-fitting garments or temporarily tacking layers of fabrics/battings together in quilts. Select a basting stitch or set the stitch length to 6.0 For garments, place the fabrics right sides together. For quilts, sandwich batting between quilt top and backing. Place fabrics under the presser foot and press the foot control. The machine will sew a stitch. Pull the fabric the required distance away from you and press the foot control again. Repeat this as many times as needed to complete basting.
